Brittany Lang expected to maintain winning form in 2013
American Brittany Lang is one of the most talented LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) contenders, but the 2012 season made her more visible in the lineup than ever before.
Lang racked up her first victory in the season, as she won the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic 2012. It was an amazing triumph in every sense because before that the American star had been
under fire not being able to end her months-long victory drought.
Among other players who are expected to start their 2013 season in winning style, Lang stands tall and she is likely to maintain her winning streak in the 2013 season.
Lang has shown the golfing world that she is a fast-learning contender, but staying winless since turning professional back in 2005 had dented her reputation.
In addition to winning a tournament in the season, the American star recorded three top-ten finishes—something that speaks of her hidden talent.
Lang displayed a stunning performance in the HSBC LPGA Brasil Cup 2012 as she took the share of fifth position on the leaderboard.
The LPGA Lotte Championship 2012 saw Lang post a 283 to take the share of seventh position on the leaderboard. The victor earned her a hefty $43,121, but she could have done much better
in the four-round tournament.
Her performance at the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic was the finest. She carded a total score of 268.
“I was hitting golf balls with my bother last week on the off week at our course and I asked him what I needed to do to play better because I felt like I was playing good,” Lang said while
speaking to the media during the tournament.
“I got better with each putt because I had to make two other putts to stay in the playoff. I was so nervous on that first putt in regulation”.
According to observers, Lang will try to maintain the momentum going in the 2013 season as well. With Asian players having proved their mettle on the LPGA Tour, it is becoming more and more
difficult for American stars to remain in the headlines.
But stars like Lang and the top-ranked American Stacy Lewis have made life miserable for most of the South Koreans and other Asian rivals.
