Brittany Lang in high spirits after maiden victory
American Brittany Lang, who racked up her maiden professional victory at the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic 2012, has emerged as one of the most consistent players on the Ladies Professional
Golf Association (LPGA) Tour lately, although she still has to go a long way to prove her real worth.
Since becoming professional in 2005, all Lang has been trying to do is position herself as one of the top-ranked contenders. Now that she has set the ball rolling, she seems to have got on
the right track.
Currently ranked 27th in the Women’s World Golf Rankings, the American star has proved that she is keen to improve her position further, and she has repeatedly vowed to find a spot
inside the top 10.
On the whole, the year 2012 has been the most momentum season for Lang as she not only clinched her maiden victory but she also recorded several top-ten finishes.
The Manulife Financial LPGA Classic saw Lang in her best form since becoming professional as she made perfect strokes on almost all the holes and did not give too many chances to her rivals.
She carded an overall 268 and moved into playoff along with South Korean Hee Kyung Seo, Inbee Park and Chella Choi.
“It feels amazing. I can't believe it took me seven years to win a tournament out here. Like I told you in Hawaii, I hadn't been that good under pressure and I'm getting better, and I'm so
thankful that it happened this week and I'll only get stronger from here,” the LPGA phenom had said at the end of the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic 2012.
“I was hitting golf balls with my bother last week on the off week at our course and I asked him what I needed to do to play better because I felt like I was playing good, and he just gave
me a couple tips”.
Lang is now going to participate in the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia 2012, scheduled for October 11, at Kuala Lumpur. It remains to be seen how the rising LPGA star fairs against rivals far stronger
than her.
According to the details, key players are confirmed to join the field of Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia 2012, which means that Lang will have to show a better-than-usual game if she wants to record
another victory in the current season.
