Brittany Lang upbeat ahead of LPGA Hana Bank Championship 2012
Despite not being able to finish the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia 2012 inside the top 10, American Brittany Lang is in every sense a battle-hardened golfer and she is going to prove this when
she comes face-to-face against rivals at the upcoming LPGA Hana Bank Championship 2012.
The LPGA Hana Bank Championship 2012 is slated to be played from October 19-21, at Incheon, South Korea, pitting almost all the top-ranked LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) rivals
against each other.
While it is true that Lang may not be able to enjoy home ground advantage and raucous crowd support at Incheon, she still stands taller than most of the Asian contenders.
Observers also said that the American star is upbeat ahead of the LPGA Hana Bank Championship, largely because of her good performance in the 2012 season.
The impending battle at Incheon could also be a thriller for other American contenders like Stacy Lewis, Lexi Thompson, Michelle Wie, Brittany Lincicome and Paula Creamer, but the media and
fans have focused on a fearsome Asian roster.
Asian roster will feature key stars such as current world number one Yani Tseng who is also the defending champion of the Hana Bank Championship, Na Yeon Choi, Inbee Park who recently won
the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia 2012, Ai Miyazato, Mika Miyazato and So Yeon Ryu.
Although Lang has not moved up from her current 26th position in the Women’s World Golf Rankings lately, she has shown that she is now able to rattle any top player.
Thanks to her improved putting and swing, Lang managed to make a solid start at the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia 2012, which saw her shoot a 69 and 68 in the first two rounds.
Observes said that the LPGA Hana Bank Championship is sure to see a much tougher battle among big names as the weather conditions are calmer compared with Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia.
Suzann Pettersen also expressed her satisfaction about the weather, saying it is much cooler than Kuala Lumpur. “We were not expecting super-hot weather, so I think we're all prepared and
packed for these types of conditions. The fans and crowds are great, so I think we'll have a good frame for a good tournament,” Pettersen said.
