Brittany Lincicome happy with performance, keen to move ahead
American Brittany Lincicome stood firm at the 15th position in the Women’s World Golf Rankings after performing well at the US Women’s Open 2012.
Lincicome has been playing well in the current season, however, she still has to fix some fatal flaws in her putting in order to move up in the world rankings.
The American star does not appear to be complacent and has repeatedly vowed to do her best on the course. Having racked up five titles on the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) Tour, Lincicome has proved her mettle and is ready to make even bigger breakthroughs in her career.
Moreover, the rising star has also won a major title at the Kraft Nabisco Championship in 2009 — something that has helped her dwarf most of the other LPGA contenders.
Analysts said that the professional golfer looks keen to move ahead, but she has been having difficulty getting back on track.
Although she played well at the third major tournament of the current season, held at Kohler last week, Lincicome still has a long way to go in order to outshine big names like current world number one Yani Tseng or Stacy Lewis.
Her best performance was seen in the 2011 season, as she won two LPGA titles. Lincicome recorded a win at the ShopRite LPGA Classic in June 2011. She did not falter and kept advancing with consistency and hard work.
Her second victory of the 2011 season was recorded at the CN Canadian Women’s Open in August.
The US Women’s Open 2012 brought plenty of surprises for the 26-year-old golfer, as she grabbed the first-round lead after posting a 69 on the leaderboard.
Despite getting off to solid start, the American prodigy faltered in the next three rounds. She finished tied for the 18th position on the leaderboard.
Lincicome has been working hard on her swing and putting. Speaking to the media during the US Women’s Open last week, she said that she is always concerned about her putting, which is something she needs to stay focused on the course.
“Putting is all confidence.  You can shut it down, slice it, hook it, do whatever you want in the stroke,” Lincicome said.
