Brittany Lincicome ready to defend title at ShopRite LPGA Classic
Brittany Lincicome is going to defend her title at the ShopRite LPGA Classic, scheduled to be held from June 1-3, at the Stockton Seaview Hotel and Golf Club.
Lincicome is glad to see her name in the roster that also includes big names like the current world number one Yani Tseng, Paula Creamer, Na Yeon Choi, Suzann Pettersen and Stacy Lewis.
The American star is likely to face trouble defending her title, as most of the players confirmed for the match are known for putting up a tough fight on the course.
Analysts said that keeping in mind her performance in the last event, Mobile Bay LPGA Classic, Lincicome seems to have regained her momentum and can pose a serious threat to LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) titans like Yani Tseng and the world
number three, Suzann Pettersen.
Speaking to the media about what she is planning for the $1.5 million event, the 26-year-old LPGA superstar said that she is confident about her capabilities, and will try to defend the coveted title.
She said that since she has been passionately following golf, there is no way she will walk off the course without putting her best foot forward.
Heavily obsessed about fishing, the rising player spends a considerable amount of time on this off-course activity.
When asked how she is going to deal with multiple tasks, Lincicome said that she is awaiting her new boat to come, which she intends to use for fishing.
However, she was keen to point out that she is fully focused on the task at hand, which is, the looming battle at Stockton Seaview Hotel and Golf Club.
"Golf is what I do for a living, makes money. For fishing it's something to do on the side.  If I didn't have to play golf and I could just fish every day, I totally would do it," Lincicome said.
The golfing sensation went on to say that every golfer is involved in off-course activities, which is not unusual.  “Players do it different ways," Lincicome explained.
"Some girls need to spend eight hours on the driving range, hitting balls, and some girls like me, can go an hour and hit golf balls and be perfectly fine".
