Brittons Empire and All for David in contention for the Grade OR London Road Standard
The anxiously awaited Grade OR London Road Standard will take place today, 30th March, 2012, at Romford, at 21:56 GMT.
The six hounds, Yahoo Ned, All For David, Brittons Empire, Aherlow Shaw, Slick Signature, and Farloe Ashes, will be competing over 400 metres for £175.
All For David and Brittons Empire will race as favourites with odds of 5 to 2. Their past performances have been terrific and they are expected to prevail today.
The C. Allsopp trained Brittons Empire performed well in his last three races but has not managed to secure a victory in this season.
The son of Hades Rocket, out of Velvet Satin, ran a solo run at Monmore on 20th February, 2012 where he covered the 264 metre track in 15.68 seconds. He ran in a solo on 6th March, 2012, this time he covered the 480 metre track in 29.18
seconds.
The black hound finished as a runner-up in his first start of the season, where he was defeated by Boherna Bridge by a large distance of 4 lengths over 480 metres in 28.76 seconds.
He finished in third place in the Grade OR Coral On Tv Standard Trophy – Heat 3 at Romford on 26th March, 2012. He bumped up in the beginning and missed second place by a narrow margin of a short-head.
All For David, the joint race favourite, is less experienced compared to Brittons Empire but he has the benefit of the familiarity of the track.
The son of Go Wild Teddy, out of Loughloher Tilly, started his career at this track on 14th October, 2011.
It was a successful start to his career as he landed a victory in the Grade OR Coral.co.uk Standard where he shared first place with Adams Honour and finished 5 ¼ lengths ahead of Oscars Blurr.
He suffered a setback in the Grade OR London Road Standard at Romford on 11th November, 2011 where he finished last.
He completed the 400 metre course in 24.62 seconds against winner, Kish Corsair’s time of 23.74 seconds.
His performance has improved considerably this season as he recently bagged a victory.
He succeeded over Tipp Are Black by 2 lengths in 26.76 seconds in the Grade OR RD Racing Standard at Oxford on 22nd March, 2012.
These two hounds are in contention for this race, battling fiercely for this first place.
Brittons Empire has raced at this track three times in his career compared to All For David.
All For David may use the track to his benefit and score a win.
