As the team prepares itself for a tough winter, England’s http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AN-Cook-c1026 to embrace his predecessor’s leadership style when they travel to the sub-continent to take on India.
Cook was appointed Test captain following Andrew Strauss’ retirement from all formats of cricket after his side relinquished their Test supremacy to South Africa in their own back-yard in July-August.
Strauss’ reign was a highly successful one where the Poms defeated their fiercest rivals http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 by a 4-0 margin.

His replacement, Cook, has been already leading the 50-over side, which has achieved plenty of success in the past 12 months. His next task however, is to take the Test captaincy and Broad feels that the ECB has indeed made the right choice.
"Alastair was the obvious choice to replace Andrew. He's done really well with the one-day side," commented Broad. "It was very sad to see Andrew go, he was a fantastic captain and I played a lot of my cricket under him. He's been very inspiring.
"Alastair has played lots of cricket under him as well, so I'm sure he'll embrace Strauss' leadership style and add it to his own style. It's a new chapter for English cricket and it's crucial that as players we get behind Alastair and get him off on the
right foot."
Cook first assignment will be to lead the side in India, where they will play four Tests and five One-day internationals.
