Broadband - IPv6 connectivity???

On my wirerless brodband connection it says my have IPv6 connecivity is "limited". What does this mean, and also can I change it? (p.s I'm running windows vista)

  1. It doesn't matter. You do not need IPv6 to connect to the Internet anyhow.


  2. Actually, at this point in time, the best thing to do is Disable IPv6. Unless you are using it inside a corporate network etc. Most home routers at the present, don't provide IPv6 support which is why you don't have an IP for it.

    When IPv6 really starts to get used, you can re-enable it. Otherwise, it has been causing many issues for users.  Here is one good step by step to turn it off for your wireless card!

    Just pick your wireless adapter and disable IPv6 in the stack!  You don't need it (yet) and it is easy to re-enable if needed!

  3. Move closer to the router!

  4. disable it. every network in UK still uses IPv4. just make sure IPv4 is connected.
