I am in pakistan using ptcl broadband (dsl provider)

i have a 512 kb dsl connection, when i download i get 40 to 50 kbps

speed. I believe that ptcl is using ISA bandwidth splitter from their end, is there a way i can increase the bandwidth from my end ?. As the download limits are set by their end whether it is 512 or 2mb connection. Can i alter the bandwidth speed from my end???

  1. It is unlikely that you can change this from your end as the port speed is locked on the DSLAM.  Are you sure you're not getting 40 to 50 kilobyte instead of kilobit?  Check out this site to test your dsl speed.  You should get pretty close to what you paid for.
