Broadway Magic, an easy winner in Sittingbourne Super Standard
G. Andreas’ rampant hound, Broadway Magic, comfortably bagged the winning cheque of £200 in the Sittingbourne Super Standard, taken place at Sittingbourne on Sunday, July 8th.
No one was in position to spoil Broadway Magic’s party, as he kept doing the fantastic work from pillar to post. Although, there were plenty of powerful runners in the line-up, it looked like a trouble-free trip for the son of College Causeway.
The spectators were stunned to see him upsetting the 4-6 favourite, Kiltomey Simba. After breaking from the sixth trap, the Andreas-trained spurted away early, which helped him take a handsome lead.
He made the full advantage of his early lead and, kept himself in the front all the way through. The black dog established his dominance at the first bend and, no one could catch him thereafter.
Following a splendid effort, Broadway Magic secured the top status by three and one-quarter lengths. He made a great impression by clocking the distance of 500 metres in just 30.32 seconds.
Kiltomey Simba’s defeat was a huge upset for everyone. The black dog stumbled early on and, as a result, wasted all his chances of dominating proceedings.
After an initial stutter, he ran well, but was in no position to create any problem for the leading runner. Consequently, he ended up second on the chart, covering the area in 30.58 seconds.
Afternoon Nap also went through a real hard time in the middle. He got bumped early on and, as a result, finished third on the table. The 8-1 chance, however, did a fine job to beat the rest of the lot by a decent margin. He ensured the third spot by ¾ of a length.
Holdem Impact showed an early pace, but got slightly crowded at the first bend. Although, it did not make things messy to a great extent, the hound could not do anything special after that.
Tain Flip finished fifth, whereas the last position went to Musical Data, who failed to make an impression after getting crowded at the third bend.
Broadway Magic’s connections would have ben enormously delighted to see him breaking the shackles after a long time. It was his first triumph since May 28th.
