  1. I saw Gypsy this summer with Patti Lupone and it was absolutely amazing. In the heights looks good too.  I love the music from Spring Awakening and I really want to see it, but it could get a little awkward if you see it with your parents. Have fun!

  2. Avenue Q's a good one. Since ur 16 you'll escpecially like it. It is hilarious and talks about real life. It's very "inapropiate" though. they have a song called "the internet is for p**n" and "if you were g*y" also "i wish i could go back to college." Another that has sondheim's music. Such as: into the woods, sweeney todd, company. those are some good ones. Or go see some new ones. like south pacific (revival) or in the hieghts. i strongly suggest though avenue q. its about just coming out of college and how cruel (but freakin' hilarious) being in your twenties is. or go to this site www.broadway.com and look at the show sumarries.

  3. these are the recomended ones:

    A Chorus Line

    A Tale of Two Cities

    Avenue the Musical

    Billy Elliot

    Chicago

    Godspell

    Hairspray

    In the Heights

    Jersey Boys

    Mamma Mia!

    Mary Poppins

    Shrek the Musical

    Spamalot

    The Little Mermaid

    Xanadu

    Young Frankenstein

    Greace

If i had to choose it would be either mary poppins, greace, hairspray or godspell.

  4. I would suggest going to see In The Heights (won the Tony for best musical! and also a bit funky, has some rap songs in it), Hairspray, Spring Awakening (might be a little bit awkward with parents since the two main characters have s*x at the end of act one, but has such great music though there are 2 songs which parents might not like.. "The B*tch of Living" and "Totally F***ed"), South Pacific, Xanadu, Spamalot (sooo funny!), Legally Blonde (great music and such high energy, cast is also so sweet and nice at the stage door after the show), Mamma Mia (ABBA music!)

Hopefully I helped even a little and enjoy NYC and whatever show you're going to see. Happy sweet 16!
