  1. He should have gone to the WEC. I think he would have a lot better matchups there. Then he could have gotten some experience before going to the UFC.

  2. Nah he did the right thing he wants to fight and have a big name then its a great start, although he needs some more training time, should of had his first match.....lost it on lack of knowledge IMHO

  3. U.F.C is top of the hill.

If he wins there then he will get more respect and vame then he would from winning anywhere else.

If he had gone to elite xc then he would probably win yea but he would not get the same respect.

P.s he is no punching bag. I think he showed frank mier that.

  4. I know what you mean exactly.

Brock Lesnar, while very famous and has lots of potential, in my opinion hasn't completed his transformation into an MMA fighter yet.

Sure UFC might pay him more than if he signed up with EliteXC or KOC, but UFC also has a deep talent pool right now, especially after them taking over Pride's fighters.

UFC at this moment doesn't need to nurture big names. They already have plenty of them, that explain why they throw Lesnar straight away deep against Frank Mir, a former champion in his way back.

In a lesser competition like Elite or KOC, Lesnar name will be deemed as his main quality (it's all about money) and they will feed him some 3rd rate fighters to beef up his name and record first until he is ready for real challenge.

He might not get paid as much straight away, but in the long run he will get much more in my opinion.

Personally I believe Lesnar has more skill than Kimbo, he just need more experience in MMA before being thrown inside a cage against an ex champ like Mir.

I haven't heard much about his future match, I do hope that he sign up with WEC or Elite and try to gain reputation and experience first before throwing himself in the deep end of the MMA world.

  5. I don't see what the big deal is about him. I was pretty excited about him fighting MMA when he first started, but his first fight didn't show me anything. He is in the right place though. He would have been better off starting out in a smaller promotion first because of his lack of experience. If Dana White is willing to sign him then why not?

  6. He would have dominated in EliteXC, but they can't pay him as much as the UFC.

  7. he has potential but he was not ready for the UFC yet

  8. UFC is where the money is at.  MMA got popular with the casual fans pretty quickly which caused a lot of other companies to get involved hoping to capitalize on something "new".  I know its had a small group of hard core fans for a long time.  I think most of them will fail or be bought out in the next few years.

Brock is an outstanding wrestler (the real kind not WWE) and has a ton of power.  He has his work cut out for him right now.  He is new to MMA but I think he could be good with some more practice and experience.

Kimbo is a joke.  He has nothing other than punching ability and even that isnt good enough to stop a good fighter.  He almost lost to a slumping nobody who pretty much kicked his butt until the fight was stopped.

  9. no he should not have, because all he is going to be in the UFC is a money-drawing, punching bag.... Dana knows what his doing... brock cant fight

  10. the goal of any athelete is to compete against the best.  you play football, you want to be in the nfl. hockey go to the nhl. basketball go to the nba.

you want to fight in mma, then ufc is the to be.  when lesner signed with the ufc, the majoirty of top HW fighetrs were signed there.  thats changed as of late, with tim sylvia and andrei arlovski leaving, and randy couture sitting out.

the point is, you want to test yourself against the highest caliber of compitition.  thats the biggest reason everybody knock kimbo so much, cuz he hasn't fought anybody very good.  i'd rather see lesner take a few lumps and maybe a few losses against good compitition, rather than watching him beat a bunch of guys that couldn't make it tot he "big leagues" so to speak.

too bad a lot of the best HW are fighting for affliction now.  but ufc has high hopes for guys like brock lesner, cain velasquez and shane carwin.
