Broken A/C help it’s hot!!! Can anyone who knows about a/c units please give me an idea of what could be wrong with my a/c, it is blowing warm air. I shut it off just I case it was frozen but it has been off two days now so I know that cant be it. BTW it is central A/C.

Sound like it has tripped out on high head pressure,meaning the compressor is working too hard because there is not enough coolant in the system.Call a HVAC tech to come check it out.There is nothing else to do.

HVAC Tech.: you don't say if the outside unit is running or not. That makes a great deal of difference as to where to look for possible causes for solution. Best bet when you only get warm air is call a technician. Find a problem, cure it quickly, and make you comfortable.

If it's blowing warm air it is not froze up.

Maybe the outdoor unit has tripped it's breaker or fuse and is not running.

The indoor unit is powered separately from the outside unit so it can run and blow air but without the outside running it will not cool.

If outdoor fan is running (then it has power) the compressor inside may not be and is the problem.
