Broken Calcaneus (Heel bone)?

Hi,

My dad recently broke his heel bone (the doctor described it as "crushed") in a motorcycle accident, and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar injury, and what sort of measures the orthopedist took to treat it. Was complicated surgery necessary? Any estimate on the time it takes to heal a calcaneal fracture?

Any suggestions or shared stories would be much appreciated!!

Yes this is a complicated surgery if he crushed it and the recovery time is very lengthy. Its one of the most painful injuries u can get on your foot because every move u make affects it. I feel for him and what he is going to go thru
