dropped my camera by accident. It still works, whenever I turn it on (screen comes on, saying reading internal memory) but the lens or whatever the thing is called that comes out - please excuse my ignorance, acts stuck and my camera turns off.

Is there a possible way to fix this? thanks.

  1. I'm sure it's possible to fix it, but it will probably cost you.  Really, it's up to you how you handle this....if the camera is top of the line, it might be worth it...if it's like mine - a couple years old and very basic, it's not.

  2. If still has warrantly, you should call up; if not take to the camera shop ask for a price, if the price cost more than half the camera you brought or = half of the value new camera is similar specs, get a new camera and sell this one in ebay.

  3. there are two possibilities :

    i) either your battery component is broken because of which the battery is not able to deliver the required power(maybe because of loose contact between battery and wire-plate)

ii) or your lens system may be damaged. this can happen when the lens(that comes out) has been realligned from the fall in a slightly different angle.this causes the lens to get stuck and not come out. the camera takes this as a turn-off mode and switches off.

hope you have the warrenty to cover up  the damage costs....
