Broken DVD player?

I have a DVD player (that I am not using anymore) because it RUINS the DVD after i put it in. it says "Reading Disc" then it says "No Disc." then i take it out an it never works again, is there a way to fix the DVDs?

buy a new one instead of fixing coz dvd player r very cheap now.

The discs are ruined.  There really is no way to fix them.  I do not think that resurfacing the discs would help.  Most likely what is happening is the laser head is rubbing against the disc.  That is what is causing the disc not to read.  If you have Disney DVDs you can use the replacement program.  http://disney.go.com/disneyvideos/dvdsup...
