Question:

Broken Guitar?

Okay so my guitar broke when trying to tune it. The part that holds down the strings at the bottom of the guitar snaped up and actually cracked the wood. The wood is still good enough to put the peice on in a slightly high position. I was wondering if this would greatly effect the sound of the guitar?

  1. I have no idea what you mean unless you use the proper terms.

By the sound of it, it seems like the string actions has to be lowered. You might need to alter the bridge and the intonation, and file the nut a little bit. Take it to a pro and get him/her to check it out.

  2. What do you mean by slightly high position?
