Broken Nose,Ski Racing .. while wearing a face/chin guard ?

So I Broke my nose this previous winter Ski Racing. We were training slalom and I was wearing a helmet and guard(uvex). The gate somehow managed to get inside, and under my guard and broke my nose. Just wondering if anything similliar has happened to anyone else?

Not the exact thing but similar.  Ski came off, faulty binding, came around and hit me in the back of the head.  Before helmets were that common.

1 and a million. Never happened to me. It almost seems impossible how you broke your nose. Don't give up at racing because you broke your nose. Get back out there
