Broken Samsung... Worth fixing?

Question

My friend is giving me his old broken 52' inch samsung tv for a hundred bucks, the tv is a rear projection and also has 1080p capability. The tv turns on and has a picture but the color is very off with alot of green and a little distorted... He said it could be a converter? Im just not sure what might that part be and is it worth fixing?

If the whole picture is shaded green like looking through a green viel then its a bad picture tube--expect $400-$600

If there is a seperation of colors--green lines shadowing the red and blue--then its the convergence amp IC's--expect $250-$375
