I have this Sony KP61HS30 rear projection television I bought a couple years ago and now the pictures are all distorted, the bottom and top of the screen are curved. The pictures have like a double color appearing out of it looking like a colored shadow. When I leave it on for a long time it gets better but that takes a while. Please help solve this

  1. Its out man. You probably lost some electronics.

Best option is to dump it and get new one.

The prices have come down after all.

  2. There is NO error codes for Convergence Failures....

Raymond never touched a Sony in his life, otherwise he would know that....

But he is correct about the convergence amps needing replaced, but I'll bet he got that answer by searching Keywords in this forum....

    Like "bottom and top curved"...

    "double color", "color shadow"

Those keywords would bring up HUNDREDS of "Replace your Convergence Amps" since several TV Technicians have been answering this question over the last 2 to 2 1/2 years.....

So....do you want to know the PART NUMBER ?

I can look it up using Sony's Website with the schematics and part numbers and part prices and.....

    I'll bet Raymond can't......

  3. Convergence trouble usually blown convergence IC or lost the power supply for the convergence. I sure made a lot of money from Sony's convergence circuits back in the day. If you could get into the service menu it would give the error codes to tell you what is wrong.
