I just got an env2 cell phone 4 days ago and i put it in my pocket, forgot about it, and went surfing. The phone is now destroyed. I do have insurance on the phone but insurance does not cover water damage. How would i go about getting a new phone from my insurance without paying out any extra money???

  1. Just call Verizon and ask about it and you should receive a new one for free. Its usually a one year warranty on their phones.

  2. Hey, that stinks! but i completely feel your pain about a week after i got my specialized ipod, i threw it in the washing machine by accident. but back to your situation; if your insurince plan doesent cover water damage there is NOTHING you can do about it :( those guys at the stores are very strict. even if your phone craps out on you and it was in no way your fault they will give some reason as to why they cant give you a new one. but the best thing you could do (if your this type of person) is to get them back. If you open your phone cover (to get to the battery) there may be a red sticker type thing on top of or under the battery. (This is how they can tell if your phone is water damaged. if the red ink is splattered all around that area your kind of out of luck because they will be able to tell that you are out of contract) but in the odd case that the ink is not splattered around you could just go to the store and tell them that your phone has stopped working for some odd reason that you cannot understand. if they beleive it yay for you enjoy ur new phone but if they dont take your excuse you kinda out of luck.

  3. insurance does cover water damage. but you will have  pay a deductable of $50 to get a new envy.if you did not have insurance... you would be SOL. so call verizon so they can transfer you to the insurance company and you can get a new enV2 for $50. if you dont want to pay any money for a new phone... go luck with that.

your phone does come with a one year warranty but your WARRANTY does not cover water damage. so good thing you have insurance because either way you would have to 50 bucks.

oh and also about the sticker the guy is talking about that we use to tell if there is water damage... our policy has changed... no longer go off of the sticker because people did the exact same thing the guy below me said. we do not base it off the sticker anymore- they look into the phone now. they take your phone into a room where they examine your phone and trust me we can tell there is wayer damage without the sticker.. so policy has changed even if your sticker did not change colors... we can still find out if it has water damage. :( sorry.

  4. throw it out and report it stolen, it's illegal but who'll know
