Broken balcony door handle

I am wondering do I have to pay half for a broken door handle from the balcony that my roommate broke, the handle is completely off from the balcony door

Your roommate SHOULD pay for the whole repair if he broke it, but that's for the the 2 of you to work out.  You can fix it yourself easily, though.  There should be several screws that hold it in place.  Remove the handle, take it to a hardware store/home center, and match it up.  Reinstall the handle and you are good to go.  Maybe you can work out a deal where he buys the part and you install it.  Good luck.
