Broken bike help????

Question

ok so the chain on my bike isnt working, like ill ride it and the chain wont move and neither will the gears

how do i fix it

If your chain won't move, I'm assuming it is rusted...or is it jammed somewhere it shouldn't be? If it is rusted solid, your best bet would be a new chain (just go to a bike shop and have them replace it). Or if you want to save some cash, liberally coat the chain with WD-40 or similar product and let it soak overnight. No need to take the chain off to do this. The next day, wiggle each link around to loosen it up, wipe it down, and repeat the soaking. After another day, wipe it down and put some oil on it. It will work fine again, I've rescued some pretty decrepit bikes this way.

replace the chain, it is much easier than trying to fix a chain that is having those problems.  If you are wanting to use the same chain,remove it ,wire brush it well and soak it in a can of motor oil for a while or a day whichever seems to be enough of a soak to get it back in the shape to use once again and put it back on the bike.
