  1. You should be able to just click the keys back into place.

  2. Usually they snap on very easily with a little push but don't force them if it doesn't go easily because it would do more damage than good.

If they just popped off (probably what happened), a computer shop could snap them back on for you - and probably wouldn't charge anything since it's less than a minute of work for someone who knows what they're doing.

If it really broke something, it would probably be under $50 total to have the keyboard replaced - they're not that expensive to order and farily easy for a service center to put in (about 10 minutes when I've done this)

DO NOT use glue until you ask a repair shop for a quote - it will only make things worse!

The "key" will still work without the plastic letter attached - just press the remaining rubber piece - inconvienient but temporarialy it's doable.

Tell him what happened and it'll probably be fine - this isn't as searious as it seems...just think before you act and it'll be better and cheaper than trying to do something and making things worse.

  3. I guess you can glue it back

  4. there is screen version of the keyboard   goto all programs then to accessories   then to accessibility then look for on screen keyboard good luck  this for windows only  bye goodluck

  5. The best thing, is to tell him what happened. Who knows what his reaction will be? Anger, changing to understanding? Things happen, it was an accident! Yes, I don't know your Dad, but I believe he should be given the benefit of the doubt. Let's say I tell you a fix for it, and somethin' messes up. A key gets stuck to the keyboard, or both of them do. What then? Lie? It would be painfully obvious, as to what happened, and a new keyboard for the laptop, plus a generous repair bill from the computer shop. (Generous, as in $$$$!) Stand up, and tell the truth.

Tell Dad, some computer geek on Yahoo Answers, said that using a teeny-tiny drop of Crazy Glue on the key stem,(Where the key is attached to on the keyboard), plus another one on the key, should fix it. Carefully put the key in place. (x2 this answer for two keys!) Dad has questions? Ask him to email me. (Click on my avatar->Chickster, and Email Chickster. Read my profile)
