Question:

Broken metal on retainer. How to fix?

I have a metal and plastic retainer. I must have ruined one of the metal edge's adhesion with my mouthwash (even tho they said non-alchoholic mouthwash is fine to wash with). Anyways now the metal that should go around my back molars is broken. Its very expensive to get a new retainer and I've already done that so it isn't an option. What should I do? I can wear it as it. It doesn't hurt. But one metal part sticks out so I'm afraid all those teeth can move. Any advice?
