Broken power key compaq nx9010

Question

Is there a way to turn on my laptop other then the power keyas it broke off. I need to replace the keyboard...other keys are shot toIs there any other method I used a pencil eraser to push but it does not always workIs is safe to leave it on all the time..I am afraid to go out andleave the computer laptop on all the time..thankssherry
