I was in an accident and broke my tibia and fibula in my left leg right above the ankle. This happened just last Wednesday night. I am on Tylenol 3 with codeine and a Aspirin for blood thinning. I Had surgery on it Thursday night where they put a plate on my Tibia and screwed it down with screws. They did that so it would heal quick and the plates will be able to come off. However they didn't do anything with the fibula. I am in a brace not a cast and will be for two weeks. After that I will go into a boot brace. I need to know what to do to help the healing process go smoothly and quickly. I am 21 years old and was very very active. Right now, I can take the Tylenol and it doesn't effect me out all. The pain is still there as though I never took any medicine I just need to know what to do.

  1. broke my tibia 2 days ago  this is the 11th and it hurts no matter what you take keep it elevated   is what my doc said  and no wieght on it at all

  2. I was in a car accident two weeks and I received the same injuries but on my right leg. My orthopedic surgeon stated it would take between 6-8 weeks for me to heal. In order to heal quickly and smooth try not to put any weight on your left foot. I am 22 years old and a college student plus I was working full time, so I completely understand what your going through. I am on oxycodone which works wonders for my pain and levnox injections to thin my blood and reduce blood clots.
