  1. I have broken my small baby toe so many times, there is nothing you can do, just tape it to the other toes. If it is so sore that tears start running down your face = broken, or it swells up and gets blue. Do not go to the doctor, and stop drinking so early in the morning.....

  2. OOh! Sorry about your foot! Hope you are up and at 'em again soon.

Would happily walk your dogs for you if I were a wee bit closer. Hope you find someone to do that for you.  :o)

  3. ouch! any toe injury is painful. Good luck and get well soon

  4. I broke my small toe last Monday when I had my accident. You can see if it is broken because there will be a black ring around it. (Esp. on the sole side of your foot. That is where the break is) It will also go red and will swell.  There is nothing that they can do for you except give you some pain killers. Some doctors will set it but that is just to make the patient happy. It heals very quickly if you don't have kids and dogs who seem to stand on your foot every 5 minutes!

** I also had to rest my foot up for the first day. But after that it was fine. I feel for you. It is very eina

  5. I'm in the UK but I am sat here with a broken fifth metatarsal bone ( base of long bone going to the little toe) so I hope you don't mind me answering.

If you take a look at this site you will find a lot of information regarding breaks/fractures of all parts of the foot...it's an American site but our feet are the same wherever we are from.  It's quite interesting and may give you an insight into whether you have just "stubbed" your toe, or there is indeed a break of some kind there.

Hope it heals soon and that it doesn't cause you too much discomfort.

  6. When I broke four of my metatarsals(excluding my big toe) on my left foot after about 5 minutes I had numbing then extreme heat around the area and finally enough pain to make me loud enough for people to here me from the side of the mountain we lived on but not wake the neighbors. It subsided, and as soon as I was lifted to be moved an drive the pain returned until I was given an injected pain killer. It may be a fracture, I was wondering if I could tell the difference of a small break or fracture myself. About 2 weeks ago I had a 200 pound cast iron umbrella stand drop it's edge on the top of my foot as the umbrella rod cracked. I quickly lifted it, though I had a fracture  and could feel it till it became a scar though it is almost gone. At the time I believed it to be broken until 1. I walked on it 2. could bend it and 3. it did not change color dramatically(just a thick line, not an area inflammation). Those 3 things happened when I broke my 4 left metatarsals on my left foot. Still be smart if it still hurts in two days, go to the local E.R. if it's a break and not a fracture shown from X-Ray an it's not offset you'll get pain pills. If it's offset they'll re-break it, and set  it back in alignment(unclean breaks are not common to happen from what I know). Good luck

  7. My mom broke her toe a while ago. The doctor couldn't really do anything (I suppose he could've done surgery but we weren't able to). Yep, my mom was in pain so she just had to hop around.

  8. U klutz!

  9. Lol Honey you have all my sympathy,I broke mine years ago in SA and I can still remember that EINA,my doc tied the toes together, but it was more uncomfartable so I untied it and hop along, and after a few days I was ok!!!

h**l Honey I wish I was closer then I would love to take your dogs for a walk,I know my little one loves walkies.Good luck and I hope you get better soon and have a goodnights rest.x*x

  10. I have a broken small toe...broke it years ago and it is still 'broke'. I did not bother to go to the doctor and it healed on its own. The only after effect is that it is now double-jointed or not joined at all, because I can bend my toe in any direction. It is not noticeable until I bend it to show my friends my unusual ability....and make them 'grill'.

I recall that is was very sore at the time. So I do understand what you are going through. But toes are quite tough and the chances that it is only sprained are just as good. You need to put ice over it to prevent and alleviate the swelling. I am also constantly knocking my poor toes.

There is nothing that brings on an instant temper loss, and the filthiest language, than stubbing a toe.

If only you lived nearby. I have a wonderful dog park in the near that I take my friend's dog Mauritz to?  He loves it there. All those wonderful smells! I can never say the word 'gassi' out loud without him making a beeline for the door!
