Kell Brook, the emerging welterweight star from England will now have to face Ghana’s Philip Kotey in the ring on 11 December.
Kotey is going to challenge Brook for his WBO Intercontinental welterweight title after the American boxer Michael Clark’s excuse to visit him amid the passport issues he had to encounter at the eleventh hour.
Brook, the 28-year-old left handed boxer carries an enviable record. Out of 21 wins of his career, 15 were brought by emphatic knockouts, leaving his opponents incapable of continuing the battles. While from rest of 7 matches he has been into the ring, he
lost 5 and 2 were drawn.
Now, when he is to fight in an important match of his career, Brooks has no doubts that only a depiction of his best game can make his hopes sustained for getting into a world-title shot in the coming year.
Commenting upon the upcoming fight, Brook said, “I want to send a message to Mike Jones, because he looks like the one I’ll be fighting for the title. Nothing less than a sensational knockout will satisfy me.” He also claimed that the opponent was
going to have a painful night at Liverpool.
Brook, after turning professional, has carved a classy unbeaten record. The guy who has also been the former British Champion is now on verge of a transatlantic match-up against America’s Jones. And this has formed a clash for the WBO title.
This is perhaps the main reason which has thrilled the British boxer who had to wait for a title shot for a long time. Along the same line, taking on with the issue of fight he stated that he was quite close to touch and could not afford to slip up against
Kotey.
The big event going to take place in liver pool on the eve of 11 December will also feature stars like Nathan Cleverley and Matthew Macklin, while all of the fights would be broadcast live.
