Brooks B66 s Saddle repair

The undercarriage is loose at the front bolt. How do I tighten it? It appears that there may be a bolt underneath the leather seat, on top of the undercarraige. How do I remove the (front) frame assembly and tighten this bolt? Is there a special tool needed?

You can see the seat undercarriage here:

Thanks in advance for your help.

  1. You will need a deepwell socket for this- but not too deep. I had to purchase a socket the correct size and grind it down to fit. You may find a shop local to you that has a Brooks tool so that might be the best option.

EDIT: Heres a better answer http://www.brookssaddles.com/brooksengla... where you can download a repair/maintenance book.

  2. That bolt should tighten the front. You shouldn't have to take the saddle apart to get to it. try a deep socket with an extension on a socket wrench.

Edit: I can see the long threaded bolt coming out of from the nose, just between the rails. It takes a long socket to reach inside of there. Mirageguitar said the same thing. I promise there is a nut down in there that you can tighten.

Here, I found the wrenches on-line:

You can see what the wrench looks like, and maybe figure out how it goes in there. Your best bet might be finding a shop that knows how to work on these.
