Broomhill Zoomy confident about success in the Special Olympics Sheffield
For all the contestants of the Grade OR Special Olympics Sheffield Race, it will the first time that they will take the challenge at the open level. Not only are the entries inexperienced at the level at which they have to race today, but are lightly raced
too. Most have got not much to show besides the Grade T races. The 500 metres flat race will be held at Sheffield on Tuesday, 13th November.
The most promising entry for the race tonight is the sixth trap, Broomhill Zoomy. The black and white two-year-old dog joined the racing career just in September, and took on to the Grade A level after some trial races at Sheffield.
Three Grade A4 and one Grade A3 attempt saw him winning twice.
His career debut was in the Grade A4 Trevor’s 50th Birthday Stakes on 20th October, 2012 over 500 metres. The M. Cutler trained ended fifth while the race was won by, Swift Blaze, in 30.12 seconds.
The next attempt of Westmead Eagle’s son did not go waste as he won the Grade A4 Owners Bonus Series – Heat 2 on 27th October, 2012 at Sheffield.
Dressed in the colours of the last trap, the two-year-old led on for the wire from the third position, and went through in 29.79 seconds, shoving the runner-up, Shiloh Forever, into the second slot by four length margin.
Coming at terms with the third position in the race was, Iconic Millie.
The two-year-old out of, Mias Magpie, was then dominant in the Grade A3 Book Now At www.owlertonstadium.co.uk on 8th November, 2012 at Sheffield over 500 metres.
He raced in the same jacket as the previous race. Despite getting crowded even when on the wide end, the two-year-old was quick to compose his form, and reel in for the wire, managing the race in 29.48 seconds.
Winning by the mark of 1 ½ lengths meant that Honeygar Mary had to make peace with the second position and was soon followed by, Come Home Ruso.
He will need to keep an eye on the 5 to 2 entry for the race, Fintans Yoda, who is way more experienced.
