Broomwell Comet to race beyond the wire before the rest in the Dunham Greyhound Centre Maiden Duplicated at Doncaster
Doncaster is to become home for the Dunham Greyhound Centre Maiden Duplicated over 483 metres flat on Monday, 9th April. Taking part in the contest tonight are Shaheen Express, Slippy Tricks, Broomwell Comet, Noelles Hero, Tennyson Hawk and Mottos
Dandy.
The most promising entry for the race is Broomwell Comet, Hades Rocket’s four-year-old brindle son out of b***h Missy Hissy. Out of the six races that he took part in, Broomwell Comet was successful in the first four, striking a hat trick in between and
failed in the last two most recent starts.
He captured the seasonal debut by winning a Grade A4 483 metres flat race at Doncaster that he settled in 30.58 seconds. He had the 5/2 favourite runner up of the race, Ballyridge Wok, trailing right behind by a mere head’s difference.
Settling third behind the winner was Rocknrollrosie.
He then intimidated the lineup on 18th February by clocking the 483 metres track distance in 30.56 seconds at Doncaster. The runner up of the race, Nervous Fiddler, had to forgo victory by one and a half length.
Accomplishing what is possible by a very few hounds that also at the beginning of the season, Broomwell Comet struck a hat trick by winning over a 483 metres distance in 30.38 seconds on 25th February in a Grade A3 483 metres flat.
Pursuing closely right behind by a mere neck’s difference was the 7/4 favourite runner up of the race, Short Step. Nervous Fiddler leapt for the third position after the winner.
Crossing out defeat as an option, Broomwell Comet won a Grade A2 483 metres flat race on 10th March by timing the track distance in 30.69 seconds while leading by 2 ¾ lengths.
This time Broomwell Comet was entered as the evening’s favourite.
There has now come a pause to the unprecedented success of the four-year-old as he scored second after extending the winning streak to a four and then was declared not raced in the last race that he was a part of.
The trainer, W. Brown thought better of it and drilled him over 275 metres track at Doncaster on 31st March. He was through the distance in 17.66 seconds.
The training session should ensure the already high chances of Broomwell Comet’s victory.
