Brother MFC7820N. I purchased this machine 6 months ago but seldom used. The counter shows only

I purchased this machine 6 months ago but seldom used. The counter shows only 276 pages in all both printing and copying. I just noticed a vertical line approximately 1/2 inch wide on the right side when I made a copy. I made about a dozen copies and all of them showing the vertical line about 1/2 inch wide. The problem started yesterday. There is no vertical line when you print something. Printing part is fine. How do you correct the problem? I would appreciate your help.
