Brother Sewing Machine Oil?

I have a Brother CS 8060 sewing machine and i think it needs oil but i've never put oil in the machine before so I don't know how, what, and where to put the oil

  1. Just apply the oil to the moving and squeaking parts.

Check your sewing machine manual for oiling points.  You should be using real sewing machine oil, not 3-in-1 (it gums up) or WD-40 (it's  a solvent, not a lubricant).  If you're in the US, check the craft department of Walmart or Target -- there's probably a bottle of Singer sewing machine oil there that will last you the rest of your life for under $2.  Brand isn't important -- the fact that it's "sewing machine oil" is important.

    Do not overoil a sewing machine, and don't oil things that aren't asked for in the manual.  Some machines have sintered bronze bearings and are essentially "oilless", but those tend to be the better, more expensive machines.
