Brother dcp 8045d paper jammed - there's no...

Hi there, my Brother DCP 8045D seems to go crazy and i can't use it anymore. It says paper Jammed, open the door and remove the jam but there's NO paper ANYWHERE, and i looked...There's an orange bar an the back of the printer that you can view by opening the back door and slide a black plastic part that will open up on this orange soft bar. I don't know what it is for but it look like someone has used paper with staples as it is kind of bumpy and scratchy in some place.What can i do?ThanksRemi
