Brother erases DVRed shows?

What do you do when a narcissistic, malignant, pathologically lying, IDIOT 15-year-old brother erases every show you record on DVR? My brother has been doing this for a year and my dad isn't around to do anything about it. I'm very busy with school and athletics, so I only have time to watch about one show a week, and I am getting really sick of seeing that my one show has disappear when I sit down to watch it. Any advice on how to stop my brother from erasing the shows or how to get around his power-seeking fetish would be much appreciated.

All DVRs allow you to protect shows so that they can't be erased without using a password.

Select a program and you should normally see an option to "protect".

It all depends on your DVR of course.
