Broughtons Bandit likely to win Coors Light Handicap – Kempton Preview
Broughtons Bandit is expected to show a decent run at Kempton racecourse on Tuesday, March 20 and clinch top spot in the Coors Light Handicap.
The high-profile Class 6 contest of 2m distance has £1,617 of prize money. The action will start at 3:40 (GMT).
The Willie Musson-trained bay gelding is set to compete against 11 runners including Calzaghe, Hamilton Hill, Bute Street, Bengal Tiger, Prince Charlemagne, Captain Sharpe, Who Loves Ya Baby, Chhota Naa, Bilidn, Mymateeric and Raghdaan.
Since the dawn of 2012, Broughtons Bandit has been enjoying great form. The brilliant young horse gained a lot of confidence by earning runner-up rank each in his last two outings during the first two months of the year.
Prior to this, the five-year-old novice runner had notched up fourth spot in a big race on December 22, 2011. As a whole, the maverick gelding has run for 6 times to date, earning £1,007 in prize money.
At the moment, Broughtons Bandit is awash with form and fighting spirit. He will surely be able to perform elegantly at Kempton where he is going to run for the second time in his career.
The horse’s chances to thrive are as high as 85 percent provided he manages to capitalise well on his capabilities and make right use of his inherent racing skills.
Out of his competitors, Prince Charlemagne and Hamilton Hill look to be strong enough on the card.
Prince Charlemagne nicely notched up top position in a tough contest at Kempton on January 12, 2012. The trainee of Dr Jeremy Naylor moved forward to finish fifth in another race at the same venue towards the end of the same month.
As a whole, the 78-race veteran runner has 13 triumphs to his name. He is likely to do well in today’s competition.
On the other hand, Hamilton Hill hiked his confidence greatly by finishing first in his last outing at Yarmouth track on October 25, 2011. Overall, the Dai Burchell-trained novice horse has run for 7 times to date. He is supposed to show his guts beautifully
in this event as well.
With both these geldings having decent track records, there is going to be a rip-roaring clash and Kempton. Broughtons Bandit will have to apply his utmost power in order to make a breakthrough. Good luck to the rookie runner.
