Brown Panther tipped to prevail in Boodles Diamond Ormonde Stakes (Group 3)
Brown Panther is tipped to win the Boodles Diamond Ormonde Stakes (Group 3) at Chester in England on Friday, May 11, 2012. The winner of the class-1 event will be awarded a cash prize of £39,697.
Only four runners will be seen in action at Chester and their names are as follows: Memphis Tennessee, Brown Panther, Vivacious Vivienne and Calico Cat. The going will be soft in the 1 mile, 5 furlong and 89 yard event, which is scheduled to start at 14:35 GMT.
Earlier, Sea Moon was also scheduled to take part in the race, but his participation has become doubtful now. He was one of the top contenders for victory, as his record was quite impressive.
However, the bookmakers have now rated Brown Panther as the favourite to win. He is in very good rhythm and has never dropped out of the top five. Looking at his record, the punters will also be encouraged to place a lot of bets in his favour.
The four-year-old colt has participated in eight races until now, winning four of them. Moreover, he has also secured a couple of runners up positions, which shows that he consistently fights for victories.
In his most recent outing, the Tom Dascombe’s trainee was unable to finish on top of the table, but still managed to secure the runners up place. He was not rated as the favourite to win, but gave a tough time to his opponents.
Brown Panther will be partnered by veteran jockey, Kieren Fallon, who has got an impressive record at this level. He has won quite a few races at this level and has a decent strike rate as well.
On the other hand, Memphis Tennessee has also been given very good odds, despite the fact that his strike rate is on the lower side. He has taken part in five races until now, winning just once.
The A. P. O'Brien’s trainee finished third in his most recent race, which shows that he is carrying decent momentum right now. He will be ridden by J. P. O'Brien, who is a promising jockey and has performed brilliantly until now. He will be looking forward to another solid show at Chester today.
