so im new to just getting off the pill and getting use to a normal period. ive been off of it for about 3 months now. I actually had 28 days where i did not bleed ( i had a problem bleeding thru out the month when i was not meant to be) so i thought my body was back to normal once i had this 28 day gap of no bleeding (it was like heaven for me!). but i only just finished my period on the 14-15th aug and now i think i may have it back again. i wasnt expecting it until next week or the following week, well so i thought..

But yesterday i started getting brown discharge and today its heavier like a period... but yet still dark brown ... is dark brown,or brown blood old blood ?

im pretty sure im gonna start getting my period at the start of each month, so because i had a 10 day period, does this mean my body is still due to have a period at the start of every month no matter what or how long my period goes for?

sorry if this is confusing.

  1. Don't worry that's just because your body is adjusting on not being on the pill when you have a longer time with out it your period will be normal. Or you can ask your OBGYN.

  2. honey you are fine.

when i started taking bc, it stopped my period (i took it the first day it started)

then out of nowhere i bled for a month straight. not fun during spring break

since you didn't bleed for 28 days, some of the old blood collected, and your body wanted it out. so it got rid of it through an early period.

don't worry, after a few months, your body will regulate, and you should be doing fine. you'll have regular periods and you'll know when they'll start.

figuring out when they stop takes a bit longer, but it will all come together in time

believe me, birth control really messes with your system for a while, but it's awesome when it starts working right

    hope i helped :D

  3. Periods can be brown, red or pink. All normal.

Also, within the first few months of coming off the pill your body is going to try to regulate itself all over again... so expect your periods to be all over the map for a while. Not just in how many days apart, but also in how long they last and how heavy or light they are.

If you are concerned, do see your doctor.
