Question:

Brown discharge one day after my period?

I finished my period on Wednesday but just noticed a light brown discharge in my knickers this morning (Friday) that looked like it had blood in it. There was some more minimal spotting this afternoon but now, nothing. I had one full day of having no blood. I am on the pill and have had s*x once since finishing my period on Wednesday. Usually this doesn't happen to me so I am a bit worried. What do you guys think it is?

  1. No worries, this is normal. Some people don't get this at all, some get it sometimes, and others get it before & after every period. Its just your period finishing up. Mine does this everytime. I've read that the brown color has something to do with the blood being exposed to more oxygen. Which is true, the more exposed blood is to oxygen, the darker it is. Hence why our veins are blue.

You may see this start happening more.. how old are you? But its nothing to worry about. I usually experience it on my last day of my period. :)

  2. This is totally normal. I get the same thing all the time.

If you are really concerned, or if the discharge has a strong smell or chunky texture, then go to the doctor.....at least to clear your mind you know...

    Good luck

  3. It is probably just little bits of your period still coming out.

  4. Could be that you need to adjust the birth control pill to another brand, could be that your uterus is still discharging old blood. Dark blood is old blood. Bright red blood is fresh blood. Uterus lining is older blood and this is not that odd. Call your doctor for questions. Its free to ask the nurse these things and they keep it private. He will probably want to see you for an exam and to be sure all is flowing correctly. Good luck.

  5. i spose its just that cuz it hasn't completely finished. Nothing to worry about unless it keeps happening. =]
