Brown screen on Yahoo chess says i have an old version?

Another person got 1 answer for this, saying go to help on yahoo, & follow download intstructions. I went there and all I could find was a suggestion to ask here. There is no specific download that i can find. I need to play chess, does anyone know how to SPECIFICALLY go about solving this? I cleared everything under Tools/internet options, restarted etc., nadda. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I can help you with your problem. Recently Yahoo updated their chess software, the older version no longer works right. Now the standard ways of clearing cache (deleting browser history, temp files, cookies) unfortunately will not remove the older outdated game. Click on Start button, search, using files/folders. Type in yahoo chess. When file comes up, right click on it then click remove. Next time you go to Yahoo chess it will prompt you to download the new demo for latest version of yahoo chess. Yahoo updated chess you now need the new version.But you have to remove the old one 1st.

normal clearing of cache does not remove game demos.(deleting browser history old files clearing cookies, ect) They have to be deleted by selecting the demo program.

click start button,,search,click on files/folders, type in yahoo chess. When file comes up, right click on it then click remove. Next trip to chess it will prompt you to download the new demo of yahoo's newest version of chess.

  A few people are having a problem with the above method.If so use this method!     : Go to; tools on your tool bar,select internet options, browser history, settings button,,view objects.   Select the game; chess, then delete it. All your yahoo games demo's should be there,,spades euchre ect.
