Brownish bloody discharge after period?

Already had my period this month over a week or so ago. My period lasted for 3 days usually 4, me and my husband had unprotected s*x and ever since I have a brownish bloody discharge, for alteast 5 days or so. What is going on?

Brown discharge is associated with many different things.. Ovulation, old blood before or after a period, STD's and infections,.

I have had this same discharge for years.  The problem started for me after my c sections.  Numerous trips to the doctor, numerous tests showed nothing.  The only explanation I have received is that it is old blood that made its way to the vaginal opening.  Apparently, the blood was trapped somewhere along the way to the exit and as the blood ages it turns brown and sometimes black.  I get the discharge during and after s*x about 2 days up to 2 weeks after my period.  On occasion, I will get the discharge after a bowel movement or when I am wiping after going to the bathroom.  It very rarely ends up on my panties.  It is just sitting there waiting for the right time to make its escape.  I hope this reassures you and puts your mind at rest.  Oh, by the way, I have searched and searched the internet for the cause of this and have found next to nothing with my exact symptoms.  Just thought I would throw that in there and save you some research time.
