Brownish crust in my ear lobe piercing after I stretched it to 14g?

After having the same earrings for 11 years, my ear lobes started to itch and my earrings (made of silver) turned black..

I removed them for 2 weeks, cleaned them with rubbing alcohol, and found plastic ones in a Claire's, I bought 14g, because I wanted to try something different..

After 3 days, my ear lobes started itching again.. (I had a little bit of trouble putting them in; I had to push, but it KY it worked great)

I cleaned them with rubbing alcohol.. still itching.. I removed them just 30 minutes ago, and there's was a brownish crust.. I can't tell if it's blood, but there's also like a transparent liquid coming out of it.. not a lot just a tiny bit..

I wanna know what it is, and if there's something better then rubbing alcool to clean my ear lobes..

I've had my tongue pierced for 7 years, I have sea salt for piercing from 2 years ago that I bought.. would it be better??

  1. dried blood?

  2. Please stop cleaning your ear with rubbing alcohol!!! This is REALLY bad for it! buy yourself some sea salt and then go soak them in warm water and sea salt- this is by far the best thing you can do for your ears.

The transparent liquid sounds like lymph- this is a normal secretion in new piercings (yours is 11 years old but you've stretched it which means it will act like a new piercing and you should treat it as such) So nothing to worry about there, thats normal. The brownish crust...to me sounds just like dried blood to me. However i do feel this is unusual because youve had your piercings 11 years and they should be stretchier than that..but obviously you have torn them a little. At this size its not TOO bad, by that i mean you probably wont have done much damage, if your worried though downsize.

I dunno if the two year old sea salt is a good idea, because im not sure about sell by dates on salt but yes sea salt is widely considered THE only thing to clean piercings with.

The plastic is not good to be wearing in freshly stretched lobes, its porous and harbors bacteria which isnt good for a fresh piercing. if you can go and buy a piece of jewellery made from stainless steel or better yet titanium. Your ears should stop itching then, and should feel a bit better.

Any way i wish you good luck and i hope you take my advice!

  3. You should probably go to the doctors because there is a good chance that your ear lobe is infected and that has happened to me and i went to the doctors and it it helped allot
