Browns' linebacker Scott Fujita likely to be on IR for 2nd time in two years – NFL News
Cleveland Browns' linebacker Scott Fujita's football luck has turned against him second time in last two years, as a hand injury could force the player to be on reserve list for rest of current football season.
Fujita had been placed on injured reserve list last year when he had played only nine games for the Browns, hoping then to make most of his talent and skills next year, current year of American football's premier league, National
Football League (NFL).
However his hopes have been dashed at half way through current season; his appearance for the Browns in rest of their games has become seriously doubtful.
Cleveland Browns' veteran linebacker was reported to have broken his hand during Browns game against the Cincinnati Bengals last week. He is expected to go for surgery later this week leaving most of the season for him to nurse
his injury and wait for recovery.
Browns coach Pat Shurmur said that the player is expected to spend "a significant amount of time" on his recovery. He added that given the reason that his recovery is expected to be delayed the team could possibly place him on
injured reserve list. If so, he will be on the list for second year consecutively.
He had played only nine games last year before missing whole season all together. He had been inactive for consecutive five weeks and later was placed on injured reserve list.
He has suffered a similar fate this year. A clear picture of his game chances will be clear after his surgery and recovery time table given to him.
Browns’ coach meanwhile said that they have already decided to bring Chris Gocong at Fujita's place, while Kaluka Maiava to take Gocong position. However Maiava's status is not clear yet because he himself is waiting an opinion
on his knee injury. He suffered the injury in game against the Bengals.
The Browns are also facing another injury scare as their defensive end Emmanuel Stephens has become unlikely for next game due to his chest muscle injury. Shurmur said that Stephens who had started for the Browns, only second time
this season, will also spend "significant time" on his recovery.
