Browns’ running back Montario Hardesty recovers from injury, likely for next game – NFL News
Cleveland Browns’ running back Montario Hardesty is likely to play their next game against Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday.
Reports on Thursday confirmed that Hardesty has recovered from his calf injury and is expected to be available on the weekend.
Hardesty was injured in their game against San Francisco on October 30. He has not played a single game or taken part in any practice session since.
Browns’ coach, Pat Shurmur confirmed that Hardesty has recovered from his injury and could be included to their lineup for next week's game against Bengals. He said that he will start at his running back position if he plays the
next game.
Hardesty was replaced by Chris Ogbonnaya during their last game against Jacksonville Jaguars. The Cleveland Browns won that game 14-0. Ogbonnaya had run 115 yards. This was his career best.
Montario Hardesty has missed three games in a row due to his calf injury. If he makes himself unavailable for this weekend's game, this will be his fourth straight miss.
However, his injury is not as serious as teammate running back Peyton Hillis. Hillis has missed six games straight in a row. He has suffered a hamstring injury. He too participated in their practice workout on past Wednesday. He
however did limited and light workout. His participation for this Sunday's game is uncertain. He is already being ruled out for Brown's next game.
Meanwhile, Browns' fullback Owen Marecic is ruled out completely for this Sunday game. He is suffering concussion symptoms which he suffered during past Sunday. He did not take part in practice with his teammates.
It is not clear whether Marecic will be able to recover to participate in the rest of games in current regular National Football League (NFL) season.
Shurmur also said that they would not compromise on their fullback position if Marecic continues to be unavailable, and they would seek his replacement in their next game.
Browns' tight end Alex Smith was put at fullback position for some time on Wednesday. He did some workout at the position during his practice, Shurmur said. It is likely that he would be placed as a fullback in their weekend's
game.
