Browns’ wide receiver Josh Cribbs practices, raising hopes for return – NFL News
Cleveland Browns’ wide receiver Josh Cribbs finally returns to his squad for practice on Thursday raising hopes for his return from groin injury in the Browns on road game against Arizona Cardinals this Sunday.
Media was allowed to watch Cribbs doing individual drills for about a half hour and the team management said that they expected him to be able make it to their next game.
Cribbs is out of Browns side because of a groin injury. He did not join his squad for practice on Wednesday apparently not being ready for the return. His Thursday’s workout however has given birth to expectations by his team for
his Sunday return.
In his brief comments Browns wide receiver said that he was fired up for his chances for the next game expressing his desire to particularly play against the Cardinals rookie Defensive Back Patrick Peterson. "I wish to have lots
of tackles on him," he said. "They have a really good return team."
Browns are already without their quarterback Colt McCoy due to a concussion. He suffered the injury in their game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on past Sunday. Cribbs will be another key player to be out of the side next week.
Colt McCoy who played for Cleveland Browns for a brief period of time in their game against the Steelers despite of the injury has been sent home over experiencing headaches, and therefore has not been allowed to join his side
for next weekend. There is no word from the team management yet if he is likely to stage a return this season.
Handling of Colt’s injury is already a subject of inquiry of Browns, while Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison who had come in a helmet-to-face mask contact with McCoy already been suspended for one game by National Football
League (NFL) and NFL Players Association (NFLPA) officials.
Josh Cribbs meanwhile distributed TV sets as early Christmas gifts among his teammates on Wednesday for helping him in a charity show. The 32-inch TV sets were delivered to the team’s locker room on their practice day (Wednesday).
All of the players came out with praises for Cribbs for showing the sign of generosity.
