How is the specialty coffee scene in Brownsville? Is there a need/ want for an independent specialty coffee shop promoting Fair Trade or relationship coffees?

brownsville needs to grow bigger..i think it needs a variety of new business

OMG, you are thinking waaaaay too sophisticated for Brownsville.  It is a border town.  Not one of the bad ones, but um, not exactly the type of place where people think "from where did this morning brew come?"

Now, that's not to say that sort of coffee shop WOULDN'T work there, but if it DID work, I think it would be because of other factors: location, price, taste.

well theres starbucks and then theres la taza dulce on mcdavitt  and then theres The Tunnel on boca chica..but personally everyone likes starbucks just for the name ...i dont i prefer la taza dulce or the tunnel oh and then theres the zoning see where coffee is permited because the City wont let small business progress they like to give us a hard time but beleive me i think you should go for it
