  1. I'm pretty sure 7250 models were "end of life" over a year ago.  So they haven't sold as "new" in a long time.  Someone probably had that one, and "wiped" it before you got it.  So you were left with a shell of icons but not all the ones you need.

If you can get to your servicebook you can try and restore it to where it should be.  If not find someone who may have a backup you can push to yours, and then delete their personal info as neccessary.

  2. Where did you get a "new" 7250??

You are missing a service book, which is a little program that tells the device what to do. If you have not already done so, go to the  Blackberry Interent Service site for your cell company and set up your internet account. You will need your PIN and ESN number (Options / Status).

If you have already set up your BB account then simply log in and on the left hand of the screen you will see SERVICE BOOKS - click on it and click on the SEND SERVICE BOOKS button when it appears. Shortly after you do this, your browser button should work. If it does not work say after two minutes, reset the device by removing the battery for 30 seconds and then replacing. it. This will allow you to disconnect from the network and reconnect. Hope this helps
