Bruce Arians backs Indianapolis Colts for win versus Kansas City Chiefs for playoff berth – NFL News
The Indianapolis Colts are targeting win versus the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday to capitalise on the second chance for claiming a berth into the playoffs, and if they do so it will be a remarkable achievement for them, given many punters had projected
at start of the season that they could manage three wins as maximum.
At 9-5, the Colts just need a win to qualify for the second round through the first wildcard. They ruined a fair chance to the Houston Texans on past Sunday.
Although they might have Chuck Pagano on the sidelines, after his recovery from Leukaemia, they will be led formally by Bruce Arians, and the interim coach has backed the side to target the win to be through to the playoffs, finally.
Quarterback Andrew Luck is also gearing up to grab the opportunity, hoping he is able to maintain his form and discipline on the field.
Luck said:
"I think guys understand what's at stake. There's a little more of a sense of urgency in terms of what to expect, but it is kind of like the playoffs."
He added:
"It would be great, I'm sure it would be emotional for a lot of people if it comes (next week). Hopefully, it will be soon. It will be great to have him back."
The Colts have pulled off some consecutive wins since Pagano left the team to get his Leukaemia treated in Week 4 of the season. It was a bye week for the Colts, and now the team is hoping he is back into the coaching role this Sunday. He is surely expected
on the team’s regular-season finale on 30th of this month if does not appear this week. The Colts are preparing to give him a surprise with win of a berth into the playoffs.
It is to recall that the Colts also had a chance to win the American Football Conference (AFC) South until last week, but the division has been claimed by the Texans, for the second straight time.
