Bruce Arians confident of Indianapolis Colts coach Chuck Pagano’s recovery from leukaemia – NFL News
The Indianapolis Colts, who have just celebrated their comprehensive victory over the visiting Miami Dolphins, had another good development to cheer about, and it is the opinion of doctors treating coach Chuck Pagano’s leukaemia that the cancer is in remission
and the official is mostly likely to win the fight against the disease.
Chuck is done with first round of chemotherapy and the results are very encouraging indeed, much to the pleasure of the team officials and players.
Interim coach Bruce Arians could not hold back his excitement over the emergence of the reports that his boss is doing fine after the first phase of the treatment.
An evidence of Pagano’s being fine was his appearance in the coaching box to see his side thrashing the visitors, thanks to the record-breaking performance by their offence leader quarterback Andrew Luck.
The makeshift coach Arians said in his remarks after Dolphins’ game that they have received positive news from the doctors as far as Pagano’s battle against cancer is concerned.
He said:
"His (blood cell) count was great. He knows that this next one (round) is going to be really tough and we're praying for him, and he's going to be fine."
Although denying speaking to the media present in the game, the official himself later broke the development with regard to the treatment of the illness.
Pagano said:
"I've got circumstances. You guys understand it, I understand it. It's already beat. It's already beat. My vision that I'm living is to see two more daughters get married, dance at their weddings and then lift the Lombardi Trophy several times. I'm dancing
at two more weddings and we're hoisting that trophy together, men. Congratulations, I love all of you."
The coach is expected to have another session of chemotherapy this week and given the success rate of the first phase, the team and commentators have expressed confidence in full and speedy recovery.
His team, in the meantime, seems getting back the lost touch. As reflective in the last game’s performance, the Colts have certainly moved on from the last season’s miserable situation, when they managed only a pair of wins during the entire regular season.
